D'On Coppedge Hensley

I graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1974.  I attended North Texas State University in Denton for three years and then I graduated from Angelo State University in San Angelo in 1978 with a BS in Elementary Education.  I do have a Kindergarten Endorsement, but I have not taught that grade level.

I have taught either 4th or 5th grade for 30 years.  I taught fourth grade my first 7 years of teaching in San Angelo.  This is the start of my 23rd year in Waxahachie ISD where I have taught fifth grade all but one of those years...

I have three sons. My oldest son, Jason Odom, is married to Julie and lives in Wylie. They have a son, Cole Riley, and a daughter, Caden Ashley. Jason is teaching Math in Rowlett High School.  Julie is teaching English in Community ISD. Wes Odom graduated from UT Tyler and is a youth minister in Tyler.  Wade Odom is attending college at Tarleton State in Stephenville. He is studying to be an Ag teacher.

I am married to Ray Tom Hensley.   He works for Viking Range Corporation.  He has two daughters, Heather Cate and Ashley Hugghins.  He has six grandchildren; Kassi, Dakota, and Kollin Butler, Kross and Kinley Cate, and Beaux Hugghins. We enjoy riding his Harley and touring Texas.  We also enjoy listening to Cross Canadian Ragweed, Pat Green, Jack Ingram, Stoney LaRue, Wade Bowen, Chad Hammack, Dakota Butler, and other Texas Country music artists.
