Grades/Report Cards/Progress Reports Late Homework Policy In grades one through five, homework will be accepted without a penalty if it is turned in at any time on the day it is due. Homework will be accepted the day after it is due, but a grade penalty of ten percent will be assigned. Homework turned in within the week will be accepted with a maximum grade of 70. The teacher may choose to provide a different independent practice activity to ensure that the student has adequate practice on the skill or concept.
Homework Policy Homework assignments will be an extension of unfinished classroom work. Parents are not expected to instruct children. They are expected to assist if the need arises. Students should understand what they are to do before they leave school for the day and be able to completer the assignment in a short period of time. Practice-type activities will be ones that should be completed quickly. Project-type assignments will require more time. Primary children should generally spend no more than thirty minutes on homework.
